SGA Raises $1100.00 for UNCF

The Student Government Association led the staff and student body in raising funds for the United Negro College Fund.  The students organized several dress down days to raise the money for scholarships.  This was an important commitment for the students and staff and Jacksonville Job Corps.  The Center Director, Mr. Kenderson Hill asked all staff to commit themselves in supporting this worthy initiative.

At a time when a college degree is what a high school diploma was to previous generations, the minimum entry-level requirements for almost every well paying career, United Negro College Fund (UNCF) plays a critical role in enabling more than 60,000.00 students each year to attend college and get the education they want and deserve.  UNCF helps students attend college and graduate by administering 400 scholarships and internship programs, so that even students from low income and moderate income families can afford college tuition, books and room and board.

Last year the studets raised funds for the American Cancer Society, Komen-Race for the Cure and the American Red Cross.
