“Making a Difference” in Texas

“Making a Difference”
Students from the Gary Job Corps, San Marcos, Texas are celebrating “Make a Difference Day” by numerous community projects.  Pictured are students cleaning up around Rio Vista Park, they have also been involved with reading to students at the Boys and Girls Club, assisting the elderly at the PONDER House at Springtown Villa, assisting at the Hays County Food Bank, painting curbs and landscaping at Regent Care Nursing Center, doing a clothing drive for Haven for Hope in San Antonio, Tx.  Over 1311 volunteer hours, involving 439 students, 37 staff, and 20 community volunteers contributed to make “Making a Difference Day” a success.  Pictured are Gary students and staff from the following trades, Business Office Technology, Computer Support Technician, Human Services, Corrections and Security.  Job Corps works for employers, taxpayers, communities, and at-risk youth.
