TV Personality and Motivational Speaker Havilah Malone Inspires at NOLA Awards Ceremony

Pardon Havilah Malone if patience is not her favorite virtue. After all, this is a woman who knows that the average female lifespan is 80 years or 29, 220 days and it’s never been  in her psyche to waste any one of those days.

She has always been in hurry to arrive. She was the kid who said, “Are we there yet?” She believes you can travel the scenic route and still get to your destination fast. She graduated from the University of New Orleans at the tender age of 19 with a degree in Drama and Communications and quickly landed a position in  the WVUE-TV Fox 8 newsroom. In short order, she became a District Sales Manager for Hewlitt Packard where she served as HP’s National Spokesperson for the QVC and HSN shopping networks.

Havilah has always thrived on new challenges and now she is in development of her own national talk show. On Wednesday, she encouraged New Orleans Job Corps Center students to decide on their mission in life and then take massive action towards achieving their goals.

“You are the writers and directors of your own life,” Havilah told students at the Center’s monthly awards ceremomy. “You hold the keys in your hands to do whatever you want. You have that power. Give yourself permission to think outside the box. Each and every one of you are extremely skilled.”

Havilah said her road to success has had more than a few potholes along the way but in the end it’s all about the law of attraction. You get what you think about most of the time.

“I’ve had good times. I’ve had bad times. I’ve been unemployed. I’ve been employed. I’ve been divorced. And at the end of the day, no matter what your circimstances are, no matter what you’re going through in life, you are more than that. You can achieve anything you set your mind to.”

Havilah quoted one of the gods of positive thinking, Napoleon Hill, author of the classic Think and Grow Rich.”If you can conceive it and believe it- that’s the key- you have to believe it-then, you can achieve it. And it’s so very true.” She  reminded students to not waste what’s left of their 29,220 days on the planet.

Then, she was on her way. More mountains to climb for Havilah Malone.
