Muhlenberg Job Corps Student Earns Scholarship

Kitumaini Nturubika, who was born in Congo, later became a resident in Orlando, Florida. On May 14, 2012 he enrolled as a student of the Muhlenberg Job Corps program. During his enrollment, he has successfully completed the Medical Office Support and Pharmacy Technology trades. He is currently enrolled at the Madisonville Community College where he was awarded the John T. Smith Scholarship of $675. John T. Smith was the first African American community college president in Kentucky from 1968-1975. Recipients of this award must be Kentucky residents, earn at least a 2.5 GPA in high school or college, considered a minority racial status, and enrolled in at least six credit hours. Kitumaini currently holds a 3.0 GPA, is working to become an Occupational Therapist, and is one of the seven Muhlenberg Job Corps students enrolled at the Madisonville Community College.
