“See, Believe, Do” is the message Melissa Hicks Office Administration students 22 year old Donetta Wilson from Lexington and 16 year old Rosalie Sheldon from Murray, KY got to hear throughout the day, when the two got to attend the 15th Annual Big Sandy Women’s Business Symposium on February 25, at the Wilkinson-Stumbo Convention Center in Prestonsburg, KY with Perkins business Community Liaison Jimmie Slone.

The young ladies started off the morning, by listening to the Keynote Speaker Miss KY, 2012 Jessica Casebolt. Casebolts message was “Pursuing a Dream”. The message was simple and very clear, that Jessica stated give back to your community to others, believe in yourself, and never give up. This was a message that both the young ladies said they will remember.

The day was filled with workshops that discussed the new Health Care reform act and the Affordable Care Act, and Empowering Single Mothers to Pursue Higher Education. After the morning workshops, Wilson and Sheldon enjoyed lunch, and networking opportunities when visiting with vendors from banks, healthcare, communications, health insurance, and home business, Mary Kay and origami jewelry.

The closing keynote speaker Ms. Kelly Swanson and award winning storyteller, comedian, motivational speaker, was the most powerful stated Wilson and Sheldon. Stating that her energy and message got them thinking about their own goal setting, and what they needed to do to succeed in life. With the title of her message, that was the theme throughout the day, “See, Believe, Do”.
