Job Corps Honors Congressman Ed Whitfield

U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield (KY-01), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power, was recognized by the National Job Corps Association, April 2nd, 2014 on Capitol Hill.   Congressman Whitfield was acknowledged for his efforts with enrollment suspensions and funding efforts of Job Corps.  The award read, “Representative Whitfield fought to restart youth admissions and he championed funding, allowing Job Corps to serve as many youth as possible.  As a result, tens of thousands of formerly disconnected youth are safe, learning and starting careers in our nation’s fastest growing occupations.”  Karen Robinson, the Business Community Liaison of the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center met with Congressman Ed Whitfield on Capitol Hill to provide him an update of the many successes of the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center and to thank him for being a number one advocate of the Muhlenberg Job Corps program.
