Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Security & Protective Students land Paid Work Base Learning Job!

Security & Protective students, 24 year-old Sarah Ray from Pinetta FL, and 20 year-old Jennifer Mizell from Wallingford, KY, have landed a paid WBL job with SEI Security Inc. in Pikeville, KY, thanks to the watchful eye of their instructor, Mr. Jeffory Aldrich. After seeing one of the SEI guards at an event, Mr. Aldrich began discussing the Job Corps program with him. This led the SEI team to the Perkins Center on April 11th to see the Security & Protective Services program in action.

Now the Perkins Center and SEI have formed a partnership that will afford students the opportunity to have valuable on-the-job training while also able to save money for their future.

The two students, Sarah and Jennifer, will be working between 25 to 35 hours weekly putting the skills they have learned and certifications earned in the classroom to work, such as OC Pepper Spray, Taser, and handcuffing to name just a few.

SEI Inc. offers security services throughout Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia via their Pikeville District Office.
