Local Leader Visits with PIVOT Students

PIVOT Job Corps center recently welcomed Multnomah County Commissioner Jules Bailey. Mr. Bailey met with a group of PIVOT students and answered their questions about a variety of subjects, including establishing pathways for people who want to improve their education, providing services for the homeless population, and improving outcomes for people dealing with mental illness.

Site Director Tyna Moreschi was impressed with the students’ questions. “Our students came up with some very astute questions to ask Mr. Bailey. Their questions show the issues that are most important to them.”
Mr. Bailey was excited to talk to the students about their areas of interest and concerns for their community.

“It’s important for our students to see the impact they have in their communities and inviting elected officials to visit and talk to them is a way to do that,” Tyna continued.

Whenever we get an opportunity to show local leaders and community members what we do at Job Corps is a good day!
