The Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Carpentry Class was presented a volunteer appreciation award by Appalachian Hospice Care today. The class led by instructor Mr. Brandon Conley has worked with the organization for two years on various projects. The most recent was constructing a bench for visitors to sit on for the
memorial garden located in Paintsville, KY and making Christmas ornaments for their annual Christmas tree. The class has also constructed a float for Apple Days, for veterans to ride in the parade.
The class will be working on a new project this summer building some flower boxes for the group.
Mr. Conley stated ” His class always enjoys assisting with these projects, it teaches students so much about giving back to their community”.
