EMPIRE ACTOR “HAKEEM” GIVES BACK
On April 11, 2015, students of the Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC) had no idea their Saturday afternoon would include a visit from actor/rapper, Bryshere Y. Gray aka Yazz The Greatest (rap title) on Fox’s highest-rated television series EMPIRE. Mr. Gray plays Ha-keem Lyon one of the main characters within the series and the youngest son of hip-hop mogul Lucious (Terrence Howard) and his ex-wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson).

He had a very candid conversa-tion with the students about making good choices. Yazz went on to inspire the students to never give up and to complete the Cleveland Job Corps program for the betterment of their future. Yazz explained to the students that the instructors and staff at the CJCC are there to offer the students sound advice and guidance with their career choices and he en-couraged the students to work with the staff.

He expressed that the key to suc-cess is embracing a positive outlook on life and remain-ing optimistic no matter what your past experience may have been. Yazz assured them that they can persevere and be achievers regardless of past obstacles if they embrace their future with a positive, determined outlook on what’s to come. “Always, represent your neighborhood
