Charleston Job Corps Center hosts Military/Service Leadership Day-Oct. 8, 2015

The Charleston Job Corps Center (CJCC) hosted the Military/Service Leadership Day, October 8, 2015 sponsored by the Career Service Department. The event was organized by Rosalyn Cary, Career Transition Readiness to expose students to the benefits of enlisting in the military and direct placement upon completion of the program.

Job Corps has a longstanding relationship with the military by providing students who are employable, educated and skilled to enlist in various branches. The center offers ASVAB testing, military presentations and tours to recruitment offices on a continuous basis.

Today’s event included the Charleston Police Dept., Kanawha Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marines, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, National Guard and the Air National Guard. Students received access to a money machine filled with SPO (Student Personnel Office) dollars to access the student store, positives, and money. Additionally, students enjoyed the tea cup ride and cookout by Career Services and Recreation departments.
