Woodland Job Corps Attends Congresswoman Donna Edwards’ College Fair

BCL, Jobina Brown participated in Congresswoman Donna Edwards’ College Fair this past weekend where she was a panelist at the “Alternatives to High School” seminar at Annapolis High School.

“My message is simple – plan for future success”, stated Ms. Brown to the packed audience of high school and middle school students. Students along with their parents were also able to learn about: FREE Money for College, Winning College Applications, Resumes/Cover Letters, Trade & Technical Programs, and the 21st Century Top Careers.

The Fair featured over 120 representatives, including participants from over seventy 2 & 4 year colleges and universities, (some offering on-the-spot admissions/scholarships) and military academies. Corporations, government agencies, nonprofits, and associations offered information about internships, apprenticeships, and part-time and summer employment opportunities.

Woodland is always glad to get the opportunity to showcase just what they have to offer to young people to become successful. They are looking forward to attending the college fair next year.
