Shriver Students Giving Thanks to the Veterans

Shriver Students Giving Thanks to the Veterans

On November 11th Shriver JCC celebrated our very own veterans. Shriver is home to 14 staff veterans. Thank you for your service to our country Daryl Eli, Christopher Neilson, Alvaro Alex Herrera, Leopoldo Collado Matias, Donald Donahue, Edward Jordan,
Raymond Walker, Edward Dilling, Ronald Hulette, Tyrone Dudley, Patricia Cremens, Paul Shimmel, Paul Robertson and Jeffrey Jacobs
We pay tribute to ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE, MARINE and COAST GUARD veterans alike. Our veterans were special guests at a special meal where they received appreciation gifts to acknowledge their hard work, dedication, bravery and courage while serving in the military. We also honored those veterans no longer with us, still serving or never returned MIA’s and POW’s with the “Fallen Soldiers Table” tribute which was read by our own Luis Filpo. Luis is a current Security student here at Shriver who has recently enlisted in the Ma-rines and is awaiting a ship date. Veterans were further celebrated in a student-run assembly later in the day which featured songs from each branch of the Military and the singing of “America the Beautiful” and “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” performed by PLC Mr. Aubrey Lewis and student Ms. Junisa Feliz. We would like to take another opportunity to THANK all of the men and women of the United States of America whose courage, bravery, honor and pride has resulted in our freedom. We at Shriver Job Corps Center salute you!
