Carl D. Perkins Center has Y2Y and Job Shadow Activity with their K9 friend “Stormy”

As part of Job Shadow week and the ongoing Youth 2 Youth (Y2Y) Partners4Peace program. K9 Officer Nick Bingham and Sgt. Jonathan Pack with the Prestonsburg City Police Department were on center with their K9 partner Stormy. They discussed with students in the Security & Protective classes what Story does, and the impact he has had on the department. Stormy is a 7 year old Lab from Daytona beach FL, and has been with the department for five years.

K9 Officer Bingham took Story through dorm rooms, classrooms and hallways at the center. Showing how the dog performs and some other career avenue’s in the Police Dept., it also resulted in a clean sweep of the areas that stormy visited. This is another way that the Perkins center is proactive when it comes to student and staff safety and will continue to work with students to ensure that the center remains drug and violence free .The main objectives with the youth 2 youth(Y2Y) partners 4 peace program.

Perkins would like to thanks the Prestonsburg Police Department and Stormy for participating in the Y2Y and Job Shadow activity.
