Rainbow City Mayor Visits Gadsden Job Corps

On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, Rainbow City Mayor Terry John Calhoun and his Secretary, Beth Lee, toured the Gadsden Job Corps campus. Mayor Calhoun and Mrs. Lee toured various areas on campus, i.e., administration, classrooms and career technical training areas. This was the first time that Mayor Calhoun and Mrs. Lee had ever been on the Gadsden Job Corps campus before and they were so impressed by our students, staff, and with the campus. Mr. Juvenel Levros, Center Director spoke to Mayor Calhoun and Mrs. Lee about the Gadsden Job Corps Center and shared with them about the importance of students and how the Gadsden Job Corps Center strives to help students get their GED or High School Diploma and learn a Career Technical Trade. Mayor Calhoun said, “I have lived in Etowah County for all of my life but did not realize that Job Corps was here and if he could ever help the Center in any way, please feel free to call upon him”. Mrs. Lee commented on the Student Ambassadors, Kenneth Russell and Russell Williams, that they were nice young men who represented the Gadsden Job Corps well.
