Students practice many skills, during Halloween Activity with Pre-School children.

Students from Ms. Betty Bartlett’s Reading class visited the North east Louisa Head Start classroom in Louisa, KY. Students go to practice their reading skills when capturing the youngsters attention with the Halloween book “The lady that wasn’t afraid of anything”. Students had also prepared a pumpkin craft for students to work on after the story. Ms. Bartlett and her Reading class spent several days preparing the crafts and practicing the story, so they could be ready when presenting to the students.

Perkins students get several things when they do these types of activities in the schools. They learn how to prepare and work with their classmates before the activity, it helps their reading , communication skills, and exposes them to different career paths such as the education field.

Perkins appreciates the North East Head Start for allowing the Perkins team to visit, they look forward to going back in December for some Holiday activities.
