NEWS, STORIES AND UPDATES FROM JOB CORPS CENTERS NATIONWIDE

The local Minot news stations broadcasted Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps Center students participating in Groundhog Job Shadow Day at different professional locations in their potential line of work. These students observed what a day of work would consist of, and some tools and techniques companies use on a daily basis. Both students and employers gave amazing reviews of the experience. Danny Valdez, Central Machining General Manager spoke highly of Burdick stating, “We are very interested in helping these young folks be successful in life and have a career in the welding and machining industry. We want to continue to work with the Burdick Job Corps and the welding department, because we know we have opportunities of hiring some nice, young men and women that have worked there.” The students and employers both spoke highly of the activity and are looking forward to many more opportunities for events like these in the future.
