Carl D. Perkins Job Corps students assist with City of Prestonsburg Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday April 8, Carl D. Perkins “Youth2Youth” Student Ambassadors assisted the city of Prestonsburg with their 2nd annual Easter Egg Hunt. Student ambassadors from the Culinary, Office Administration, and Security & Protective Services career technical training programs worked many jobs during the event. Students assisted with parking, outreach at the Perkins table, manning the food booth, grilling and preparing hot dogs for the guest, and hiding over 10, 000 Easter Eggs filled with goodies for the children.

Carl D. Perkins “Youth2Youth” “Partners4Peace” program is an antiviolence student initiative that began in 2016, for Job Corps across the nation. Student ambassadors promote peace and work to prevent violence and conflict on their centers and in the communities in which the centers are located, and hold special activities for students and the community.
