Charleston Job Corps Center’s, center director Willie Brown was the guest speaker at the Region 2 Workforce Investment Board on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Mountwest Community Technical College. The Region II Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is comprised of business, labor, agency partners, local elected officials and WIB staff. Claude “Jake” Hunt is the executive director for the Region II WIB and an active participant on the center’s Workforce Council.

Job Corps is a mandated partner for the local WIB’s and One Stop centers. The center partners with workforce councils to provide youth 16-24 opportunities for academic and career technical training. Willie Brown provided center updates, rankings, measurement criteria and invited attendees to tour the center. Tia Welch, Business Community Liaison represents the center by serving on the board and chairing the youth committee for Region II.
