After Clevelander Carlos Rubic left John Adam High School, he wasn’t sure what he was going to do. He saw an article in the newspaper about the Cleveland Job Corps Center and decided to enroll into the program.

Mr. Rubic successfully completed the Cleveland Job Corps program on May 8, 2017. He earned his high school diploma and Facility Maintenance certification. “Cleveland Job Corps helped me to settle down and focus on myself without the worries of the world,” explained Mr. Rubic.

Career Transition Specialist, Denneth Campbell, assisted Mr. Rubic with enlisting in the U.S. Army. On July 23, 2017, at the age of 18, Mr. Rubic will leave for basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. “Work for what you want because nothing in life is easy or free” and “humble yourself because the next day is not promised,” advises Mr. Rubic. He will be working in the culinary trade while in the military, but he hopes to advance into a construction trade. Carlos dreams of one day residing in Jamaica and raising a family.
