Jacksonville Job Corps Medical Assisting Class Tour the Mayo Clinic

Students and Instructor from the Jacksonville job Corps Medical Assisting class had an amazing opportunity to tour the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.  The clinic is one of three in the nation and is considered to be one of the premier hospitals in the country.  The clinic opened in April 2008, the hospital combines the best high technology and quality patient care and attention to detail.  They have 305 private rooms of which 194 are private.  The hospital is planning a 100 million dollar expansion to address patient demand.

The medical assisting class had an experience of a life time.  The students were exposed to 21st century technology and state of the art equipment.  Their tour consisted of visiting the simulation areas, meeting rooms, testing areas and various areas in the Davis and Mayo buildings.

The twenty five MA students were exposed to multiply phases of services offered at this world class facility.  The students were also provided with employment information and opportunities by the HR team.  The morning ended with lunch and a question and answer session.
