Muhlenberg Job Corps Welding Students Community Service Project

The Muhlenberg Job Corps Center donates ten picnic tables made by students of the welding trade to the City of Hartford, Kentucky to contribute to the city’s “trail town” initiative.
Heavy industry trades students at MJCC have been working closely with the city of Hartford for the majority of 2017 to assist the city council in making their community a certified trail town. In order to acheive that goal, the city must have outdoor activities with community access such as kayak access ramps, ATV trails, parks, horse back riding trails, and/or other outdoor activities.
Earlier this year, students of Heavy Equipment Operation helped to construct a kayak access ramp, and park. The picnic tables now being donated are for the park near the access ramp and are heavy duty tables so that flooding will not wash the tables down stream.
