Blue Ridge Job Corps Student Success – Candice Baylor

After graduating from High School in June 2016, Candice Baylor decided to follow in her sister’s (Angelica Baylor) footsteps. On April 12, 2017, Candice joined the Blue Ridge Job Corps “Village” and decided to pursue the Medical Assistant trade just like her older sister.

In less than a year, Candice earned her Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician (PCT), Phlebotomy, ServSafe, and Electrocardiography (EKG) credentials. She also enjoyed participating in Blue Ridge Job Corps’ extracurricular activities. Candice graduated from the Blue Ridge Job Corps program on January 9, 2018.

In 2017, while she and her sister were still enrolled at Blue Ridge Job Corps Center, her family decided to make Marion, Virginia their home due to the small-town atmosphere and beautiful mountains. The 22-year-old landed a job at the Pain Management Clinic in Abingdon, VA as a Medical Assistant. Candice plans to pursue a journalism degree at Virginia Highlands Community College.
