Muhlenberg Job Corps Honors Graduates at 8th National Commencement Celebration

The Muhlenberg Job Corps center joined 125 other Job Corps centers nationwide in celebrating the Job Corps 8th annual National Commencement Day, holding a graduation ceremony on August 17th to highlight the successes of Job Corps graduates.

The graduation ceremony was attended by family and friends of graduates, as well as, Amelia Wilson, field representative for U.S. Congressman James Comer, and Stephen Tressler, Kentucky registered apprenticeship coordinator, who was also the keynote speaker, all in support of the 22 graduates of the commencement class, 2018.

Some highlights of the graduating class were the salutatorian, Euries Williams, and the graduate speaker, Tiara Ford, along with two graduates who have been accepted to Job Corps’ advanced training programs, Euries Williams and Shane Peterson; and three who had perfect attendance; Irvin Richardson, Darnell Ward, and Euries Williams.

Muhlenberg Job Corps student Danielle Wells sang the national anthem before the ceremony began, and student Jacob Crumb performed a song that he wrote especially for this graduating class, followed by MJCC wellness center nurse singing Carrie Underwood’s, “Whenever You Remember”.

Following the tassel ceremony led by Center Director, Peter LaFleur, families and friends of graduates were invited to the cafeteria for graduation cake.

Nothing is more important to the Muhlenberg Job Corps team, than the success of the students who take advantage of their opportunities within Job Corps. Celebrating those successes creates memories and pride in the graduates that will last a lifetime.

Congratulations Muhlenberg Job Corps National Commencement graduates of 2018!
