CVS Health Community Partner Provides Jobs for Phoenix Job Corps Students

Phoenix Job Corps would like to thank CVS Health for their dedication in what has turned out to be a great community partnership! Students from Office Administration, Certified Nursing Assistants and Medical Assistants are participating in the internship training program.

After the successful completion of the 12-week training period, students are transitioned into full-time employment as Revenue Cycle Specialists in the CVS Finance Department earning $18.50 an hour.

“At CVS, we recognize the value of and need for work-related experiential learning for success in revenue cycle work,” says Jen Bruno, CVS Director of Enablement: Training, Quality & Process Improvement.

“Our CVS Health partnership with Job Corps provides an opportunity to work with Job Corps students. Upon completion of the first internship program we found ourselves fortunate to have more new incredible colleagues supporting CVS Health. The internship benefits the students, CVS and our community.”

The first group of interns were all successfully hired!

“The internship experience is one of the most important pieces of the foundation of a successful career,” says Bruno. “The CVS Health finance team came together with a goal to provide a robust internship experience for Phoenix Job Corps students. The investment in our interns provides a rewarding experience for our team and resulted in eight job offers and eight excellent new CVS Health colleagues.”

“This is a true example of community partnering at its best,” says Phoenix Job Corps Work Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator Harvey Thomas. “It enables employment and training opportunities for our students to pursue a career in healthcare. Working with CVS has been a rewarding experience and a true demonstration of commitment to provide opportunities for today’s youth.”
