Charleston Job Corps Alumni,  Dock New, graduated from Charleston Job Corps in 2016.

While attending Charleston Job Corps Center, he received certifications in Green Awareness, Core Curriculum Construction, Technology, OSHA.  Prior to attending Charleston Job Corps,  Dock worked in Coal Mining and wanted a more stable field of work.  He was very active on center, he also became a member of leadership for the Dorm and was able to provide a great support amongst his peers.

Dock completed facility maintenance and furthered his education by going to advance training for Overhead Lineman Construction at Gary Job Corps Center.   Dock says,”Job Corps Gave me the skills and training needed to improve my life and employment opportunities.”  He also stated, “My life has improved drastically.  I paid off my vehicle 8 months earlier than expected and will be paying off my home within the year.

Dock is currently employed with Gudenfauf Corporation and is currently studying to upgrade his license from a Class B to CDL to a class A CDL.
