Recent Cleveland Job Corps completer Raeanna Hyche will be traveling to Denver, Colorado in October to start a new journey with AmeriCorps. “I was accepted into AmeriCorps to serve and help the Community,” stated Raeanna. Earning Medical Office Support, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, First Aid and ServSafe credential, Raeanna completed the program on June 7, 2019. She recalled how former Career Preparation Period Instructor Tiffany Artis and Office Support Instructor Nicole Jackson both pushed her to reach her potential. Raeanna moved quickly through the class but became nervous about the National Health Career Association (NHA) exam. She shared her worries with Ms. Jackson who put her classwork on pause for a month and had her do nothing but study. She took the exam in April and passed with a 419. She obtained her certificate in Medical Administrative Assistant and then her temporary driving license.
As post separation approached, Raeanna began talking to staff to get advice and determine her next move. “I applied to everything hoping that something would come through,” said Raeanna. “God showed me a sign, and I finally made a choice to travel, see the world, and help others.”
