Former Carl D. Perkins Security Student Begins Military Career

US ARMY Edwin Gallen came to Carl D. Perkins from Hawaii Job Corps in October 22, 2018. His mother encouraged him to join the Job Corps program and he put her off for a while. After realizing he had no motivation, focus, or direction in life he decided to give Job Corps a try. Originally he was interested in the medical office field. However, the physical training of Security and his yearning to lose weight motivated him to enroll into the Basic Security Trade. Edwin lost 100 lbs. at Hawaii job corps before being accepted to our AT-Security program. He excelled during his tenure here completing Police Expandable Baton, Edged Weapon Defense, Handcuffing, Less than Lethal Shotgun, OC, and Control and Restraint certifications. He took his ASVAB in November shortly after being accepted into the AT program and scored a 75. This opened up a lot of opportunities for him and he began speaking with recruiters on center. After completing Advanced Security he went on to complete basic training with in the US ARMY and now works as an Intelligence Analyst.
