Muhlenberg Job Corps Students Serve Thanksgiving Meals at Nursing Home

Thanksgiving is an important time of the year.  It is expected that more than 55 million people will travel 50 miles or more away from home in 2019, making this the second-busiest travel day since the year 2000.  In this important holiday, families gather together to celebrate all the things that they are thankful for.  This year around the holiday, Muhlenberg Job Corps health trades students decided to volunteer their time to serve those that might not have a family to return to on the Thanksgiving holiday.  On Thursday, November 21st Greenville Nursing and Rehab celebrated their Thanksgiving Feast inviting friends and relatives to come enjoy the day.  Job Corps provided Certified Nurse Aide and Certified Medical Assistant students that were willing to invest their time and helped set-up, serve, and feed patients at the nursing home facility.  This opportunity allowed the students to mingle and interact with the residents and their families while also experiencing first-hand what it would be like to work in a nursing home.
