Muhlenberg Job Corps Students Participate in Operation Christmas Child

On Nov. 25th, Muhlenberg Job Corps students lent a hand to Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse that distributes shoeboxes filled with gifts to children who might not otherwise receive any presents for Christmas.

Muhlenberg Job Corps students working toward obtaining their Commercial Driver’s License – Class B offered their time and experience to load the boxes onto trucks at one of the processing centers for Operation Christmas Child.

Student volunteers included Jeremiah Harris, Darren Rooks, Leroy Jamison, Jarvis Hicks, Keithley Saunders and Jessica Murray. The volunteer efforts of these students impacted the local community and beyond. Harrell Riley, pastor at HR ministries of Princeton, KY, believes the total impact from this distribution center alone will improve Christmas for 12,000 to 15,000 children both locally and world-wide.

Since its inception in 1993, Operation Christmas Child has delivered more than 168 million shoeboxes to children in more than 160 countries.
