Cleveland Job Corps Encouraged and Helped Me

Raevyn Lloyd completed the United States Air Force basic military training at Keesler Airforce Base in Biloxi, Mississippi in August 2020. She will be working in Administration.

Looking for a career and not just a job, Raevyn enrolled in the Cleveland Job Corps in April 2019. “Joining the Cleveland Job Corps Center meant independence, freedom to grow and be among my peers,” said Raevyn. During her enrollment, she obtained a ServSafe, Occupational and Safety Health Administration (OSHA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant credentials.

“I enjoyed learning about customer service, phone etiquette, patient insurance, and the health care industry,” explained Raevyn. “I am grateful for Nicole Jackson, Office Support Instructor, and Charmain Gordon Career, Transition Readiness Specialist. Their support and encouragement helped me be successful.” In October 2019, Raevyn completed the program and enlisted in the United States Air Force.

She is excited to have an opportunity to travel around the world to provide humanitarian aid. “Job Corps encouraged and helped me live a better life and provided me with the knowledge to be successful,” stated Raevyn.
