Cascades Culinary Students Are Keeping A High Profile In The Community

The Cascades Culinary program is very popular with community organizations and those who are in charge of fundraising. Recently, the students were able to lend a helping hand with their culinary talents to two oustanding organizations, the local Boys and Girls Club, and Skagit Community Action Agency. The students prepared and served  over 300 meals for the third annual Boys and Girls Club Spaghetti Feed and Auction. The tremendous efforts of the sponsors and supporters really paid off  by raising over $8,200 dollars for the program.

The Skagit Community Action Agency teamed up with the Skagit Veterans Advisory Board to organize a community “stand down” for local veterans and their families. Veteran stand downs have been organized throughout the country and have served hundreds of thousands of veterans by providing services and camaraderie in a safe environement.. They have become collaborative events coordinated between various private and governmental service agencies and volunteer groups. Cascades’ Culinary students prepared 180 meals that were distributed at three locations in the county.
