Alaska Job Corps Students leave With A Job

Transition Team is Cranking

There is a new energy in the back of the house.  The Alaska Job Corps is well known for its training programs and residential program.  But becoming certified is not the end of the story.  It is actually the beginning of another more important story—lifetime employment.  At the Alaska center this is the priority of the Center Transition Services team, made up of Annette Menzies, Jesse Ivie and Chelsae Perron.  All are energetic Employment Specialists and their primary goal is to ensure that all students, leaving Alaska Job Corps, are employed and equipped for their future.   They operate as a team and amazing connections are happening.

There is a Career Transition Resources classroom where students finalize their resumes and prepare for employment.  And there is 1:1 services offered for all students to find the best job and employment available.  Alaska Job Corps’ goal is to have students leave the program, with a job.  This way all the training and vigorous modeling and preparation moves on a smooth arc into employment.

The Alaska Job Corps is operated by Chugach Education Services.
