Arecibo Job Corps center Outreach Administration Supervisor, Lydia Arrocho jointly with 15 of our students participated at the local media TV Show to talk about our center contributions to the local community and/or local economy and to advertise our educational services. Article was sent to member of Congress, congressional staff liaison.

October 27th, a community service was organized thru Scuba Dogs Cleaning Beaches – Hatillo Marine organization. The TEAP Program students visited the Marine area in Hatillo and help Mr. Vega, Scuba Dogs trainer to clean-up the beach.

On October 26th, a “Make a Difference Day” community service took place in Manati by four (4) OCT Program students and the OCT instructor. On October 25th, the University of Puerto Rico in Arecibo Campus coordinated a community event with the purpose to educate, prevent, and raise funds for the Breast Cancer Patients. On October 23th, as part of “Make a Difference Day” eight (8) Retail Sales Trade Students in companion by Retail Sales Instructor Melitza Valentin participated on a Clean-up community service in Arecibo. Twenty (20) BAM Trade students participated on a community service at the Department of Natural Resources in Arecibo. Our students volunteered to clean the animal’s cages, feed the animals such as bears, turtles and monkeys. They also helped clean the green areas. Activity was coordinated by Case Evaluator, Lydia Varela.

Community Service was conducted at the Santa Teresita Children’s Home “Hogar. Eight Retail Sales students and their Instructor Melitza Valentin dressed in a fun clothing combinations outfit to bring joy and happiness to the children. They had a fun time playing goofy games with the children.

Nine (9) Retail Sales trainees participated with their Instructor Melitza Valentin and Counseling Supervisor Ivelisse Sánchez on a Community Service at the Santa Teresita Children’s Home “Hogar Infantil Santa Teresita” located in Arecibo.
