Brooklyn Job Corps Culinary trainee, Denecia Trimm is pictured above with Aliyah Rowe, Manager of Nutrition Education for City Harvest. Denecia has been selected to serve as a volunteer Community Health Educator with City Harvest. In this role, Denecia will conduct the “Healthy Cooking Matters” training at other community-based organizations throughout New York City.

On Sunday, October 18th, 2015 Brooklyn Job Corps participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk held in New York’s historic Central Park. On Saturday, October 17th, 2015, 10 female trainees from Brooklyn Job Corps attended the Circle of Sisters sponsored by HOT 97. The expo occurs annually and is the largest event for women of color in New York City. Circle of Sisters also hosted a variety of panel discussions, seminars, inspirational services, R&B and gospel concerts. [...]

Staff of the BJCA facilitated several fundraising events to collect money in order to give our trainees with children a Christmas Party on center the last day school before their holiday break.  The party included arts and craft activities, Santa arriving on his sleigh and Christmas presents for each of the 42 kids.
