Congressman James Langevin visited with EJCA Culinary Arts students and staff on April 5th to celebrate their recent RI ProSTART competition win. EJCA Culinary Arts students became the State Champions at the 2012 RI Culinary Arts competition. EJCA students were sponsored by USFOODS, J&W University, RI Hospitality Association and Adams and Associates for the National competition. Congressman Langevin spoke about the importance of Career and Technical Education as well as Industry Certifications for all young employees. He reviewed the value of education and being prepared for the workplace. Congressman Langevin is one of the co-chairs of the National Career Technical Training council.

EJCA Manufacturing and Construction students participated in a Ground Hog Job Shadow event during February with the Rhode Island Army National Guard at Camp Fogarty. Students were given a guided tour of the Mechanic Shop, the Humvee fleet, heavy equipment and motored vehicles.
