Flint/Genesee Job Corps Center

Graduate  Jaquan Burke has been accepted into advanced training at the Cassadaga Job Corps Academy in New York for Licensed Practical Nursing and Graduate Lamarlon Bethel was accepted into the Human Service Worker program at the Grafton Job Corps Center in Massachusetts.  Fellow peers and staff are proud of their accomplishments and wish them well!

Students from the Academic Department at the Flint Genesee Job Corps selected reading to small children in the Child Development Center, who reside at the facility as well.  Students also toured the Flint and Genesee Counties Main Libraries, as well as Mott Community College, Baker College of Flint, and University of Michigan.  Many students found out that [...]

The Student Government Association (SGA) from Flint Genesee Job Corps Center raised $811.00  which was donated to victims of horrific hurricane in Texas which affected many families in that area.  Donations were from both students and staff who were grateful to be able to give at such a challenging time in that area.

Job Corps Centers located nationally, organized a remarkable Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in celebration of his legacy.  The Flint Genesee Job Corps Center, was recognized along with Long Beach, Cassadaga, and Gerald R. In recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, students gave back to the community by volunteering each day of the week to include: giving children staying overnight at Hurley Hospital stuffed animals, serving the homeless at the Flint North End Soup Kitchen, preparing disaster boxes at the Genesee County Communication Resource Department; [...]

Richard Rauscher  started at Flint Genesee Job Corps Center on 5-1-12.  He started the brick trade on 7-30-12 and completed on 6-14-13.  After completing, he took a 2nd trade.  He started Carpentry on 6-24-13 and completed on 3-24-14.  He separated from Flint Genesee Job Corps Center and joined the Carpenters Union in Cleveland, Ohio.  He [...]

 Austin Green started at the Flint Genesee Job Corps Center on 6-29-15.  He received his high school diploma in October 2015.    He will complete the carpentry trade in May of 2016.  His plan was to enlist in the military from day one and that is what he is doing.  He goes to boot camp in July [...]
