Graduate of the Painting Trade, Johnny M., began new job at Nile Construction beginning at $24.00 an hour for Commercial Painting.   His work ethics were so outstanding he has been offered overtime in Industrial Painting during the weekends!   Great job Johnny  – we are proud of you!

The Child Development Center, which cares for Job Corps students while they are in training, donated four boxes of diapers to support children in the foster care program through the Ennis Center, located in Flint, Michigan. Two student cadets enrolled in the Homeland Security trade at Flint Genesee Job Corps undertook and  successfully completed the mandatory National Rifle Association (NRA) training needed to qualify for the State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License!  This training consist of home protection, firearms safety, concealed carry laws, shooting techniques and accuracy, and a written exam. Students and staff in the HEALS’s and Green Committee created an impressive raised garden during the COVID pandemic, which will feature flowers petunias and gladiolus, and vegetables to include cucumbers and carrots.  The gardening project proved to be a stress reliever during a much challenging time.  Good work students and staff!
