Guthrie Job Corps Centers’ Y2Y Ambassadors and staff volunteered at God’s Food Bank.  They divided up product and prepared it for disbursement.

Nearly 300 community members attended the Guthrie Chamber Banquet on Thursday, January 19, 2017.

GJCC Making it Merry And Bright!

There was a Christmas present explosion in our social development department this last week.  Some of our staff and our Student Government Association sponsored a local five member family this Christmas.  GJCC doing what it takes to make a season bright for others!

Military Appreciation Day

Guthrie Job Corps hosted a Military Appreciation Day on October 13, 2016.  Three branches of the military were on center to talk to students, staff and guests.  The Mayor of Guthrie, Steve Gentling was speaker for the assembly that was held in the gym.  Several prominent community members were in attendance.

Taking it to the Streets!

Guthrie Summer Streets Guthrie Job Corps participated in the first Annual Guthrie Summer Streets Event on August 14, 2016.  This event was initiated by our health department’s total wellness program.  The weather was great and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to “take it to the streets”!

Mayor Steve Gentling and Channel 20 came on center to interview Center Director Priscilla Mayberry on August 4, 2016.  The interview will air in September 2016 to help Guthrie Job Corps gear up for our 50th Anniversary Celebration in October.

Getting the Job!

Bullseye Staffing on Center! John Marzano with Bulls Eye Staffing was on center on June 7, 2016. He talked to all the trades about the opportunites.  Several students filled out applications and asked questions.

Our security trade students and staff spent five days assisting with parking at the community event called “Praise beyond the Walls” in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Even though it was extremely hot, they were there to help those attending with parking and directing traffic.
