Blue Ridge Job Corps Holds Open House

On April 25, 2019, Blue Ridge Job Corps hosted an open house to give local employers, potential applicants, and members of the community at-large the opportunity to learn about the opportunities offered at our center. The Student Government Association served as tour guides for the evening, including Medical Office Support student Julie Davisson and Clinical Medical Assistant students Brenda Gomez, Hannah McBeth, Doerita Pokuwaa, Katelin Singleton, and Amanda Umbrello.
Guests began the tour with an introduction by Center Director Cathy Williams, and then proceeded to tour the campus, visiting the dormitories, classrooms, recreation, and wellness department. Insights Admissions Counselor Jennifer Singleton was also on center to assist with applications and enrollment questions for those interested in attending Blue Ridge.
Those in attendance were impressed with all that is offered at Blue Ridge Job Corps, and made a point to say so. One guest, Roland Hall, representing Wytheville Community College, stated, “you guys are doing a great work here, and the quality of training prepares students for great careers, and it proves that Job Corps works.”
We would like to say a big thank you to all of the staff and students who helped to make the open house a success, and a very special thanks to all those who took time out of their busy schedules to attend the event.
