Carl D. Perkins Class receives Personal Finance training

Carl D. Perkins Career Transition Readiness (CTR) students get presentation on personal finances and budgeting. CTR is the last Component of the Job Corps program that prepares students to transition into the work world. Students will update resumes, job search, look at LMI, and practice interview skills under the guidance of their CTR Instructor. Guest speakers are also a part of the training giving students first hand information about their particular industry.

On February 24, Elaina Stamper from the First Commonwealth Bank in Prestonsburg, KY talk with the students about personal finances such as budgeting, credit scores, credit cards, checking and savings accounts, balancing a check book. She also went on to explain the credit score chart from poor to excellent. For some students this will be the first time they are out on their own, paying their own bills and finances. This is vital training for students to have a greater chance of sustaining independent living. Carl D. Perkins would like to thank Ms. Stamper and the First Commonwealth Bank for their continued support of the students and staff at Carl D. Perkins Job
