Friday 10/13/14, the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps was honored to have Congressman Hal Rogers visit their center. Congressman Rogers got to hear from community members about partnerships they have the center particularly Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. Congressman Rogers talked to staff and students about where the center was 6 years ago ranked 104 in the nation to # 8 thanks the staff, under the leadership of Center Director Mr. Thomas Rainey. 　Congressman Rogers also went to talk with the students about working hard, and achieving their dreams. To be” doers” and give back to their community.

Congressman Rogers also presented Perkins Business Community Liaison, Ms. Jimmie Slone with the Hal Rogers Difference Maker Award. For exemplary leadership and dedication to the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center and creating community partnerships, including her  passion to mentor youth in Eastern Kentucky.

 At the conclusion of the ceremony, Student Government Association President Mr. Brandon McGuire presented Rogers with a basket of homemade treats from the Perkins Culinary Class.

 Carl D. Perkins wants to thanks Congressman Rogers and his staff for their continuing support of the Car D. Perkins Job Corps Center.
