Two graduates of the Advanced Training Security Program at Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center have new careers with CoreCivic and the Tennessee Department of Corrections. Ramon Vela Dotor, 20, and Marcus Shagogue, 20, are now putting their training to work as corrections officers at the Trousdale Turner Correctional Facility in Hartsville, TN.

Dotor, from Chicago, completed the basic security training program at Joliet Job Corps Center in Illinois, while Shagogue completed his basic security training at Shriver Job Corps in Massachusetts. Both received numerous certifications while enrolled in the advanced training program at Perkins Job Corps, including certifications in Control and Restraint, Oleoresin Capsicum Spray and Less Lethal 12 Gauge Shotgun. They also got on-the-job training by working at numerous events, including a Taylor Swift concert and University of Louisville football games.

Both students graduated from the Perkins Advanced Security & Protective Services Program on Nov. 19.
