The beautiful Spring like weather, made and ideal day for Community members, and special guest from the  Ky and WV. CTS, and  OA staff to attend the Community Relations Meeting(CRC) at the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center. Staff and CRC members got to enjoy a Year End Review  presentation by Center Director Thomas Rainy. Showing  improving  stats in OMS and OBS that results in the center being ranked # 9 in the nation.  The presentation also showcased the new center improvements that has and continues to take place. The new carpet and crown molding that has been added throughout the main building ,  new incentive store,  and new weight room addition to the Gymnasium. Several guest stated that it looks more like a” College Campus”.

Guest enjoyed a light lunch provided by the Culinary Arts class. New members got to introduce themselves, while seasoned members talked about what their partnership with the center has meant to them . Anna Shepherd Floyd County Head Start Director stated ” That the partnership with the center, has been an absolute pleasure, and looks forward to continuing this into the next school year.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a center tour was given to guests. Next CRC meeting is scheduled for May, 2014.
