Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Business Community Liaison attends NJCA Policy Forum in D.C.

Perkins Job Corps Business Community Liaison (BCL) joined other Kentucky BCL’s and Horizons Youth Services and InSights Training Group  in Washington D.C. the week of April 24, 2018 to attend the National Job Corps Association Policy Forum held at the National Museum of the American Indian.

On Wednesday April 25, The team met with Congressional legislators in their D.C. offices on Capitol Hill to discuss support of the Job Corps program s and the current standings of each center as well as program needs.

The team  was met with bipartisan support on capitol hill for the program. The team was busy on the hill as they met with Representatives James Comer, and Thomas Massie and legislative  staff from US Congress Hal Rogers and US Senator Mitch McConnell’s office.

The team members consisted of Jimmie Wilson, BCl from the Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center, Janette Sweeney, BCL from the Whitney Young Job Corps Center, Sandra Catalan President of InSights Training Group, Peter Calvo, President of Horizons Youth Services and Nolyn Fueller, Vice President of Operations of Horizons Youth Services.
