Carl D. Perkins Job Corps new WBL partnership offers new opportunities for students

Perkins office administration student Tiffany Linder gained knowledge on eClinical software, during her work based learning interview at Dr. Jody Johnsons office on Tuesday August 8, 2017. eClinical is an integrated suite of electronic health records (EHR), practice management, patient engagement, tele-visits, population health, care coordination and analytics. On-premise and cloud based deployments are both available .eClinicalWorks provides technology through every step of the patient care delivery process. Patients can book appointments online, receive automated reminders, use the eCW mobile app and check in on a kiosk.

Tiffany was also trained on the switchboard, fax machine, emergency medical procedures, and introduced to staff at the hospital. Tiffany will work a six week rotation at the office. Work Based Learning offers students real work experience. Students spend time in real work environments before they complete the training. The work based learning program links classroom and career training to practical, on the job activities.

Perkins is excited with this new work based learning partnership ship with Dr. Johnsons office, and looks forward to working with them.
