From Drugs to College Graduate. These are the words from Carl D. Perkins Job Corps student Jonathan Day. Day entered the Job Corp program after seeing a commercial about Job Corps. Day said, he had been praying for god to give him an answer to his prayers, he was struggling drug addiction , not working and heading nowhere in his life.

Day entered the program in 2014, to take the Electrial trade. When day had completed his trade, Mr. Miller Days Electrical Instructor told him he needed to go to college. Day got registered reluctantly. He said he didn’t think he was smart enough to ever go to college but Mr. Miller always encouraged him to do so.

Today, almost three years later, Day is a college graduate. He earned an Associates degree in Applied Science Industrial Maintenance Technology, from Big Sandy Community & Techinal College, in Prestonsburg, KY.

Day will be leaving on May , 10 to begin Employment in Summerset, Ky for UGN Sound Solutions Corporation.

Day wanted to thank Perkins Job Corps for all they have done to help him through this educational journey.
