Carl D Perkins Job Corps students and staff along with millions of volunteers across the nation united with a common mission to improve the lives of others. For more than 20 years, USA Weekend Magazine, in collaboration with Points of Light, has brought Make a Difference Day, the largest national day of community service. Make a Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of October.
Every year millions of people participate worldwide and help to change lives of millions others

Carl D. Perkins students and staff worked throughout the week, not only on Saturday to help others in the community to and make a difference. Students form Ms. Bentleys and Ms. Barlettes reading class visited 1st grade students at Prestonsburg Elementary on Friday October 24, for a reading activity. The Perkins students read stories to the youngsters, and other accelerated reading books.

The class went so well, the students will be going back each month for more reading activities.
