Carl D. Perkins Job Corps students beat the heat, while working on Math & Reading skills.

While the temperatures reached 95 outside in Prestonsburg, Ky. The students in Ms. Barletts and Mr. Calls reading & Math class cooled things off. During the 1st & 2nd periods Barlett and Call’s class headed to Chef Marrs Culinary Classroom. The activity was a collaborative  lesson between the three.

Students got to make ice-cream, while sharpening those reading & math  skills, when reading and following the recipes and measuring ingredients. This activity is  fun for any age and who doesn’t like ice-cream as the end result.

This is just another way to make learning fun, when its a steamy summer day. Great Job Staff and Students.
