Perkins students receive certifications

Students from Mrs. Melissa Hicks Office Administration class receives several certifications and were awarded during Monday morning center business assembly. Office Admin students received combined certifications in Microsoft word, MS Excel, power Point, FEMA effective Communications, FEMA Workplace violence, Ten key numeric calculator proficiency, 1 minute typing certification, and Internet and Computing Core. When students complete all classwork, and off center six -week work base learning internship at one of the employee partners such as the KY Career Center and the City of Prestonsburg, they are able to test in each of the areas noted to obtain their certifications. If students complete the Internet and Computing Core and FEMA certifications they are able to received college credit hours that will be counted towards their business degree if they choose the college path.
