Carl D. Perkins Security & Protective Students receive training from Ky Probation & Parole!

Carl D. Perkins Security & Protective Services (SPS) classes and Instructors Mrs. Beverly Compton & Mr. Jeffory Aldrich get handcuff demonstrations, and a brief history of how they are made. On Tuesday July 29th, District Supervisor of KY Probation & Parole Mr. Gary Compton and KY Probation & Parole Field Trainer Mr. Chuck Rowe spent the morning with SPS students. The Presentation began with the history of handcuffs, how they are made, and the many types. Students then where shown, special techniques that will not cause undo injury when using them in the field.

 

This is just another way, the instructors at Perkins gives students real life experiences, and hands on training, always using innovative teaching methods. Other ways include, field trips, Work Base Learning internship opportunities, Community events, and online instruction are just a few.  This type of instruction keeps the students interest in the trade, and covers all types of learning styles.
